European Space Agency Confirms Water Ice on Moon's South Pole

The European Space Agency announced that its Lunar Explorer mission has directly confirmed the presence of water ice in permanently shadowed craters at the Moon's south pole.

Initial estimates suggest enough water to support a permanent base of 100 people for decades.
