New CRISPR Therapy Cures Sickle Cell Disease in Clinical Trial

Vertex Pharmaceuticals and CRISPR Therapeutics announced that their gene editing therapy Casgevy has cured sickle cell disease in all 45 participants of a Phase 3 clinical trial.

Patients who previously suffered debilitating pain crises have been symptom-free for over 18 months.
