1/3rd of J&K vehicles plying against 'rules'
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 15: One third of Jammu vehicles are plying without proper documents and violating Motor Vehicles Act and Rules in the willed cities of temples.
In one of busiest cities having highest number of vehicles in India and second in Asia after Tokyo the figure is really shocking.
According to a press release issued by office of the Regional Transport Officer, during checking operation some 200 vehicles were checked out of which 72 vehicles were found plying against the violation of Motor Vehicle Act and Rules.
Official release issued by Regional Transport Officer said in all 48 vehicles were compounded and Rs 82,000 realised from them as fine on spot.
Besides 24 vehicles were challaned for different violations of traffic rules and regulation.
5 Matadors, putic convenience vehicles, were also seized which were found playing without proper documents and handed over to traffic police.
Meanwhile, Regional Transport Officer has fixed Saturday for trial test for driving licence seekers.
