1989 riot victims demand relief

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan12: Joint forum of Victims of 1989 riots has demanded government help in their rehabilitation.

President of the forum Balwinder Singh while addressing the media here today that traders were among the worst affected during the riots as their shops were burnt and looted.

While lamenting on the condition of riot effected people he expressed that those effected in same riots in Punjab and Delhi have been provided adequate compensation by central and their respective state governments but those effected in Jammu were provided only Rs.5000 by the State government.
