2 BJP MLAs join Kalyan Singhs party
LUCKNOW, Nov 10 (UNI) Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh-led Rashtriya Kranti Party (RKP) received a major boost with two ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) mlas along with a couple of former legislators joining the RKP.
BJP MLA Om Prakash Yadav from each and another expelled BJP legislator Bachnu Ram Patel along with former MLA Netram Singh, former Samajwadi Party MLA Virendra Singh Solanki and congress leader Sacchidanand Vajpayee joined the RKP at the Kranti Maha rally here yesterday.
Claiming that the grand success of the rally was the beginning of the end of BJP, Mr Singh said today that it was no mean achievement for a party, formed only 22 months back.
It was the first rally of the party in the state.
Stating that more leaders from the BJP and other parties were in the "queue to join the RKP, Mr Singh, a staunch critic of the bjp, announced, we are selective and taking only those leaders in the party who are popular enough to win the assembly polls." The former chief minister, however, said the "downfall" of the BJP had started and it would be wiped off after the assembly polls.
He also reiterated that the party would contest all the 403 assembly seats during the polls without going for any electoral alliance.
