2 ultras eliminated in Doda
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 14: Security Forces claimed to have eliminated two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) ultras in Gandoh area of Doda district while a militant hideout was busted in Poonch district.
Security Forces claimed to have averted a major tragedy by detecting a Remote Controlled Improvised Explosives Device (IED) laden with 10 kilograms of RDX from the forest area of Chenani.
Police reports said that a search operation was launched by In-charge Police Station Gandoh and his team near Rajpura last evening.
The cops established contact with the militants and in a fierce gun battle eliminated two militants.
The slain utras were identified as Zulfikar Hussain, son of Abdul Gafoor of Chiralla and Saifullah of Pakistan both associated with LeT cadre.
From the possession of slain militants one AK 47 rifles with three magazines and ten rounds, one Chinese grenade and two pouches were recovered.
Police said that the slain Pak militant of LeT outfit was active in the area for the last nine years and the other local militant Zulfikhar had joined this outfit after killing of his militant brother Imtiaz Hussain code Abu Turab in March this year.
The slain Abu Saifullah was involved in many heinous crime cases of killings, extortion attacks on civilians, security forces and Police.
He was the oldest surviving terrorist of LeT outfit in the said area, police maintained.

Defence spokesman Lt Colonel SD Goswami said that troops of 10 Rashtriya Rifles (RAJPUT), under the aegis of 4 Sector RR, Delta Force recovered a cache in general area Chenani, in Doda district, today.
The cache comprises of one prepared Remote Controlled IED containing 10 kg of explosives, one Radio Set IKON and one electronic control box.
Security forces recovered Chinese grenades and other assorted ammunition in Poonch district.
Official sources here said that based on specific information, troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles and Romeo Force launched a search operation in the Bhimber Gali of Poonch district late last evening and recovered a dump of cache, sources said.
The cache comprised two Chinese hand grenades, 174 rounds of PIKA ammunition and a huge quantity of assorted ammunition, they added.
Two go missing KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 14: Two persons including a domestic help have gone missing from Jammu since last few days.
Police reports said a domestic help Prem Chand, 19, serving in the house of Kamal Wadera, son of DR Wadera at Trikuta Nagar has reportedly been missing since May 12, 2008 from his residence.
Meanwhile Vijay Singh alias Kaka, son of Naseeb Singh of New State Garage Jammu has reportedly been missing since May 13, 2008 alongwith his motorcycle bearing registration number 7380-JK02AA from New Plot Jammu.
Police have taken cognizance and efforts are in progress to trace out them.
Scooter stolen KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 14: A one scooter bearing has reportedly been stolen from Court JMIC Hiranagar.
Police reports said that one scooter bearing registration number JK08-1155 belonging to Kartar Chand, son of Galdu Ram of Hira Nagar has reportedly been stolen from Court JMIC Hiranagar.
Police have taken cognizance and all the nakas have been alerted.
