22 heroin packets found in dead body's stomach in Israel
JERUSALEM, Jan 3 (Agencies): An Israeli national, who died in China recently, had 22 packets of heroin in his stomach, a media report said.
The drugs, 400 grams altogether, were discovered during an autopsy conducted after police suspected that the November death was crime related, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The unnamed man, 44, from Northern Israel died after one or more of the packets apparently burst in his stomach, the report said.
Widespread narcotic dealing and usage has been a major problem among Israelis, it said.
Less than two weeks ago, Brazilian police had apprehended an Israeli, Yoram el-Al, known as the "King of Ecstasy", considered one of the world's leading ecstasy traffickers.
El-Al was wanted by Israeli, American and Uruguayan authorities on charges including US federal drug violations as well as racketeering and organised-crime related offences.
