Afridi to turn out for Dolphins in SA domestic T20
LAHORE, Oct 8 (UNI): After finalising a deal with Nashua Dolphins for next year, swashbuckling all-rounder Shahid Afridi is all set to become the first Pakistani to play in South Africa's domestic Twenty20 tournament.
Afridi said the Nashua Dolphins had approached him to play for them in the country's pro T20 cricket league.
The all-rounder stated that he would represent the Dolphins for two to three weeks in February after the conclusion of Pakistan's tour to Australia.
"They will officially announce my signing tomorrow," Afridi said yesterday.
"But I am excited at the prospect of being the first Pakistani to play in their domestic T20 league which is of high standards," he added.
All India police shooting championship 2009 from Oct10 Jalandhar, Oct 8 (UNI) Punjab Police will organise third All India shooting (sports) Championship-2009 at its head quarter PAP lines from October 10-14 here.
According to a press release, the shooter( men and women)from all over the states of U.T., Andhra Pradesh, BSF, CISF, CRPF, Chandigarh, Himachal pradesh, ITBP, Jammu and Kashmir, MP, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will participate in this championship.
The championship will be organised under the guidance of H R Chadha, IPS, additional Director General of Police Jalandhar Cantonment.
And Gurdev Singh Sahota inspector General of police PAP will be the organising secretary of this championship.
In the recent years India has registered its presence in the field of shooting (sports), the release added.
