Andhra University study Centre in Jammu

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 28: Andhra University today established its study center in Jammu city and authorized Amazon Information Technology center as the franchise in the state.

The announcement was made by executive director of the distance education program of the university Subhaskar Reddy during a press conference here today.

He said that the university was established in 1926 in Viskhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and at present is spread over 200 hectares having 28 departments.

Reddy said that school of distance education of Andhra Pradesh University was established in 1975 and it offers 59 courses every year.

The aggressive efforts of the university to increase literacy and make it affordable for common man are the major attraction.

He said that Jammu center would offer graduate and post graduate courses.

The local coordinator of the University Ruchi Chouhan Meer said that university is planning to open sub-centers at every district headquarter.

"We are planning to reach to the doorsteps of the rural people across the Jammu region," added Ruchi.

She affirmed that students would be provided the best study material by the centre.
