Army jawan detained with 100 rifle rounds
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 21: Police today claimed to have detained an Army jawan from Railway Station here and recovered one hundred AK and SLR rounds from his possession.
Police identified the arrested jawan as Bhupinder Singh resident of Sirhind (Punjab).
He was posted in Rajputana Rifles presently in the North of Kupwara.
Police reports said that 80 AK rounds and 20 SLR were recovered while scanning the luggage of the jawan at Railway Station this morning.
The jawan could not explain the reason of carrying the rounds with him.
He was on his way from Kupwara to his native town.
The jawan was later handed over to Central Military Police (CMP) for further questioning and investigations.
