Asstt surgeon suspended in Kupwara

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 17: On the instructions of Health and Medical Education Minister Ch.

Lal Singh, Director Health Services Kashmir has placed under suspension Dr.

Shabina Ahmad, Lady Assistant Surgeon, Sub-District Hospital Kupwara for negligence of duty.

Shabina Ahmad has been placed under suspension for allegedly not properly attending to Hafiza Begum w/o Ghulam Ahmad R/O Mir Mohalla, Kupwara who was admitted in the hospital for delivery.

Shabina instead of attending to the patient in the hospital, she asked the husband of Hafiza Begum to bring her to her residence.

Due to not getting timely medical attention from the doctor, Hafiza passed away.

Taking a serious notice of the lapse on the part of Dr.

Shabina Ahmad, she has been placed under suspension by Director Health Services Kashmir on the instructions of the Health Minister.

An inquiry has also been ordered into the matter.
