Awareness camp at Pulwama

KT NEWS SERVICE PULWAMA, Feb 16 : An awareness camp of choopans was held here today at Pulwama by the Sheep Husbandry department.

An amount of Rs.

20, 000 were provided as incentive to the 100 choopans of Pulwama, Shopian and Tral who participated in the camp.

The experts on this occasion apprised the sheep breeders of the latest technical and know-how about the sheep rearing.

It was disclosed at the camp that mutton production in the district has reached to 21.82 lakh kgs while wool production has been recorded at 4.29 lakh kgs.

The total sheep population in the district stands at 2.45 lakhs.
