Awareness camp at Tangdar

KT NEWS SERVICE KARNAH, Mar 15 : An awareness camp under Swayam Sidha Scheme was organized at Tangdar by Women's Development Corporation, the other day.

1500 local women, Sarpanchs and ICDS officers attended the camp.

The aim of the scheme is to ensure socio-economic up-liftment of women with special emphasizes on minority community families living below the poverty line.

The Development officer of the Corporation said that under the integrated scheme about 100 self Help Groups are to be covered in Tangdar block.

The scheme sponsored with 85 per cent assistance from the Central government, ten per cent from State government and remaining 5 per cent contribution from the beneficiaries.

The scheme envisages providing financial assistance at soft interest rates of 4 to 6 per cent with a five year repayment period.
