Backward status for Dandi demanded

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 20: The residents of Dandi in tehsil Bhaderwah today demanded that backward status should be granted to Dandi area.

A deputation of senior citizens of Dandi area met members of Commission for Backward Areas and apprised them of the problems being faced by them.

They said that the area is deprived of various facilities like education, medical and communications etc, adding that most of the inhabitants belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and other minority communities.

The members of the Commission gave patient hearing to them and assured that their demand will be placed before the Commission for early fulfillment.
