Balakrishna's wife surrenders before court

HYDERABAD, Jun 11 (UNI) Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna's wife Vasundhara today surrendered before a court.

Vasundhara is facing charges under section 201 of the IPC for tampering with evidence in the attempt to murder case against her husband in the June 3 shoot out at their residence.

She came to the court accompanied by two women and surrendered before the judge.

Vasundhara applied for bail while surrendering.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna's brother Ramakrishna, who the police believe was present on the fateful day, said he would cooperate with the police.

B K Chaturvedi to be new cabinet secretary NEW DELHI, June 11 (UNI) B K Chaturvedi, an IAS officer of the 1966 batch, has been appointed Cabinet Secretary, it was announced today.

Chaturvedi is currently secretary in the ministry of petroleum and natural gas.

His appointment is for a term of two years.
