BCFI holds one day convention
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 7: Central executive committee of Backward Classes federation of India (BCFI) held a one day convention at Vishwakarma Sabha Complex, Rani Talab, Digiana to discuss the burning issues related to backward classes in J&K.
Several delegates from various districts participated in the convention.
BCFI discussed the discrimination meted out to backward classes by successive state governments It took critical note of the National Conference for fooling the community ever since it came to power.
It also came down heavily on the coalition government for framing new reservation rules vide SRO 294.
They also said that no political party or MLA in the state favours the OBCs.
BCFI demanded that all refugees in the state be allotted land of people who have moved to Pakistan.
Besides, refugees be given permanent resident status along with ownership rights of the land.
They also demanded that West Pakistani refugee of 1947, 1965 and 1971 be provided with citizenship and fundamental rights.
BCFI also said that government has failed to implement the 27% reservation for OBCs in the state.
The organization has resolved to 'no vote mission' against all political parties and has appealed to all OBCs, irrespective of religion, to abstain from casting their votes in the forthcoming assembly elections.
They resolved to vote in favour of only those candidates who belong to their own category.
