Billawar MLA stages walkout
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 16: Billawar MLA Manohar Lal today staged a walkout in the state assembly after he was not allowed to speak on the issue of police highhandedness against some people of his constituency.
As the speaker Tarachand, who after laying the copy of governor's address to the joint session when the House assembled, was about to initiate the proceedings of obituary references to the demise of former legislators, Manohar started shouting that some seven persons were not just lathicharged by the police in his constituency but were also illegally taken into custody.
There they were mercilessly beaten up after taking their clothes off by the police personnel, MLA alleged.
His allegations were reciprocated by the slogans of 'Shame, shame' from the opposition benches.
Manohar continued to shout despite the directions by the speaker to take up his seat.
However when he failed to attention of the speaker, he left the House in a huff.
