BJP women workers break 'matkas' to protest water crisis

LUCKNOW, Jun 16 (UNI) In a novel protest, women members of the BJP today broke earthen pots (matkas) to protest the water crisis here.

The demonstrators gathered outside the Vidhan Bhawan here and blocked the road to protest the water crisis in the state capital.

They also broke-matkas-on the road in protest.

The BJP alleged that the district administration has failed to utilise Rs 30 crore meant for potable water in the capital city.

The demonstrators claimed that while the party has handed over several memoranda to the Jal Sansthan to get the various hand pumps and water points repaired, nothing has happened.
