BMS demands revision of wages

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 18: President Bharitya Mazdoor Sangh Vijay Chandel has appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to revise the minimum wages of industrial workers.

In a meeting held here today, the participants said that the wages of industrial workers has not risen since 2005 and due to rise in the prices of essential commodities; their wages should be raised accordingly.

They further demanded abolition of contract labour system in factories under contract labour regulation 1970 and open ESI dispensaries at Samba and Katra towns.

Those who were present on the occasion included Sachin Bali, Ashok Choudhary, Soma Dass, Shamsher Chand, Nanak Chand, Kishore Kumar and Rash Paul Singh.
