BMS to organize seminar on 'contractual employment'

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 20: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) is going to organize a seminar on "Contractual Employment" on June 22.

The BMS members have expressed concern over the "negligent" attitude of central and state governments and alleged that some contractors in connivance with Labour Department officials have been exploiting the contractual labourers and employees.

They further alleged that workers have been facing several problems in Gangyal, Samba, Kathua and Bari Brahamana industrial units as the industrialists have not kept the proper records and are allegedly violating the provisions of the Factory Act.

"The workers have been deprived of from the industrial benefits like different laws i.e.

payment of bonus, gratuity and enforcement of ESI and PF scheme," they alleged.
