Commission to probe Godhra train fire

New Delhi, July 9 (UNI): The Centre is examining the possibility of setting up a High Power Committee to inquire into the fire in Sabarmati Express near Godhra on February 27, 2002, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

A Forensic Sciences Laboratory report said the fire had broken out inside a coach, Minister of State for Railways R Velu told the House in a written reply.

As many as 59 people were killed, seven of them unidentified, in the fire in the sleeper coach of the train.
