Concern over forest land transfer controversy

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 20: Various social and political organisations have condemned the statements of the Hurriyat and other separatist leaders over the transfer of 800 kanals forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) by the state government.

In separate press statements issued here, the leaders of these organisations alleged that some elements are trying to sabotage this year's annual Amarnath pilgrimage by creating "unnecessary controversy".

They said that the Amarnath pilgrimage benefited the state in general and Kashmiri traders and workers in particular, adding that government should take necessary steps to develop more facilities for the pilgrims helps for promotion of pilgrimage.

Those issued statements included Hindu Shiv Sena, Vishav Hindu Parishad and Kul Hind Noan Soan Kashmir Front.
