Coolies observe nationwide strike

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: On call of All India Railway Coolies Association, coolies across the nation today observed one day token strike causing hardships to railway passengers.

National president of the Association Mangat Ram Saini has threatened to go on indefinite strike from February 7 if their demands are not conceded.

They are demanding class IV employees status and pension besides health care facilities.

In wake of strike, the passengers themselves had to carry their luggage and this caused great inconvenience particularly to aged and infirm passengers.
