Forum directs Insurance company to pay full sum with interest Jammu, Dec 9 (JNF) : The Divisional forum Jammu comprising its president SL Pandita its president and JK Gandotra and Meenu Sharma has directed National Insurance Company to pay the full sum insured in policy of Constable Rohit Sadhu, who died on October 1, 2001 fighting with militants along with interest @ 6 percent PA from November, 2001 till realization by depositing the amount before the forum.

The Forum further ordered that complainant is also held entitled to an amount of Rs 1000- as litigation expenses as it has been thrust upon the complainant by the insurance company.

The mother of late Rohit Sadhu had filed this complaint before the forum for release of insurance amount.

After hearing the attorney holder of the complainant and counsel appearing for the Insurance company and finance department, the forum observed that "we are satisfied that a case of deficiency in-service is established and national insurance company is found negligent in discharging its obligation towards the customers/ consumers which is nothing short of deficiency in service.

The National Insurance Company having been found guilty of deficiency in providing service is directed to pay the full sum insured in the policy of Rohit Sadhu along with 6 persent interest interest, Forum held
