District Cycling championship- 09 commences in Srinagar

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Nov 8: Two days District Srinagar Cycling championship for all age groups organized by the J&K Cycling Association commenced today at Zabarwan foot hill level second in Srinagar .

Mushtaq Ahmad vice president J&K Cycling Association flagged off the opening event 5km mass start junior boys.

The championship was organized by J&K Cycling Association and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.

Joint secretary J&K Cycling association Riyaz Ahmad said, earlier we were not organizing MTB cycling in the valley as the cyclists were not having the MTB cycles and in last year championship only 15 cyclists had MTB cycles seeing the excitement, adventure of this version of cycling, the cyclists from the state started to buying MTB cycles.

In the event cyclists were going to wilderness, uphill through bushes, downhill, steep slopes, crossing through water streams and complete these events.

The details : Junior Boys :- 5kms Mass start : Dar junaid of Green Valley Edu.

Instt., Ajaz Ahmad of Fort City Sports Club and Khalid of Fort City Sports Club.

Sub Junior boys, 5 kms Mass Start :Danish Arshaf of Fort City Sports Club, Arshid and Saqib of both from Fort City Sports Club.

20 kms II time trail, senior men : Tanvir Hussain Parra of Hussaini Sports Club,Ishfaq Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad both of Forts City Sports Club.

10 kms ,Junior boys II time trial : Dar Junaid of Green Valley Edu.

Instt, Umer of Shalimar Cycling Club and Junaid of Fort City Sports Club.
