Drug peddler arrested in Doda

KT NEWS SERVICE DODA, Aug 17: Police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler from Bagarni area of Pul Doda and recovered 1210 capsules (intoxicants) from his possession.

Police identified the arrested drug peddler as Bilal Ahmed, son of Abdul Latief Sheikh of Passari Mohalla Bhaderwah.

Based on specific information, police team headed by SHO Police Station Doda Inspector Ashwani Kumar and Incharge Police Post Pul Doda Jameel Ahmed Kichloo laid a naka at Bagarni area of Pul Doda.

Police intercepted a man carrying a bag who tried to escape from the naka without any checking and recovered 1210 capsules (SPM.

PRX Wockhardt ) from his possession.

During preliminary questioning, arrested drug peddler disclosed that he smuggled these capsules from Srinagar and was on his way to Bhaderwah.

He admitted of being a drug addict and conduit for smuggling the capsules for other drug addicts in Bhaderwah.

A case FIR number 106 of 2007 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Doda.
