Extremist behaviour will harm Muslims: Iranian leader

TEHRAN, Jan 24 (Agencies): 'Extremism by any political or religious group in the Middle East will harm Muslims and serve the enemies,' Iranian leader Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has warned.

He said this in a meeting Tuesday with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallim, Iran's semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran, highlighted the need for constructive cooperation among countries to solve regional problems, specifically in Iraq.
