'Families, shopkeepers in Kujwani to be suitably rehabilitated'
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 7: Advisor to Chief Minister Janak Raj Gupta on Saturday said that the shopkeepers and households to be evicted from the proposed site for Fly Over at Kunjwani would be rehabilitated at a suitable place.
Gupta was interacting with the shopkeepers and families during his tour to the area conducted to have on the spot assessment.
Over two hundred Shopkeepers including some households are to be evicted from the area to acquire about 120 kanal land for constructing the Rotary and a Fly Over.
The proposed Fly Over at Kunjwani, about 8 kilometers from main Jammu city would be the second largest fly over in Asia.
Gupta assured the locals that a suitable place would be identified for their rehabilitation in the close vicinity.
He said government is committed to rehabilitate families and business establishments where ever they are displaced for any reason, including the construction of development projects.
He said the matter would be brought in the notice of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for an immediate solution.
