NEW DELHI, Jun 11 (UNI) FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), a division of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Pakistani Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) envisaging cooperation in trade, commerce and services to promote women entrepreneurs.

FLO president Namita Gautam and WCCI chairperson Begum Salma Ahmed inked the agreement under which joint meetings would be held for liaison and consultation between the business women of the two countries.

"We will also exchange information on trade and economic cooperation, particularly with regard to women entrepreneurs' training," Gautam said.

Ahmed said the two organisations will submit to respective governments recommendations necessary for promoting more effective economic relations between women entrepreneurs on the two sides.

Exchange of technical information would also take place, she said.

Gautam said the focus would be on promoting business and women empowerment.

"We think social issues like education and healthcare will come on their own along with empowerment," she added.
