Gohana victim dies, mother serious

SONEPAT, Sep 24 (UNI): A conflict in a Dalit family over the sharing of compensation amount it got following the Gohana arson incident led to a death of a youth and a suicide attempt by his mother.

Fifty-year old Mewa Devi of Balmiki Basti in Gohana consumed sulphas tablets last night after a dispute between his two sons Sushil and Kuldip over the compensation amount did not resolve.

Sushil, who lives in Delhi but has a ration card in Gohana, received a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh from the administration.

But Kuldip, who lives in Gohana and whose room was damaged in the incident has not got anything so far.

This anomaly led to the dispute in the family.

Mewa Devi tried to resolve the dispute by asking Sushil to share the money with Kuldip but the latter refused.

following this Mewa devi consumed sulphas tablets.

She was admitted to the PGI rohtak in a serious condition.

In the meantime Kuldip suffered a heart attack and died on way to hospital.
