Govt sanctions 255 development projects worth Rs 460 cr: Qarra

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 26 : The Government has sanctioned 255 projects worth Rs 460 crore for massive development of the state, which would be funded by NABARD.

Stating this at a high-level review meeting, Minister for Finance, Planning, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Hameed Qarra said that NABARD has allotted Rs 260 crore to the state for the current financial year of which state has lifted Rs 120 crore and utilized for implementation of various projects.

He said during last year 91 such projects costing Rs 80 crore were completed.

The Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper submission of utilization certificates of completed works to the NABARD so that the agency could release the remaining amount.

Qarra asked the Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department to review the entire implementation position and the utilization of amount provided by the NABARD.

The Minister emphasized upon the concerned authorities to utilize the amount received from NABARD properly and submit the relevant documents to the agency at proper time.

He made it clear that those authorities who failed to submit relevant documents at proper time would be responsible for the non-release of the remaining funds.
