Information Minister Shabbir admitted to NI

HYDERABAD, June 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information and Public Relations Mohd Ali Shabbir was admitted to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences after he was taken ill.

Doctors who examined the Minister yesterday suspected duodenal ulcer with active bleeding and shifted him to the Acute Medical Care ward.

An endoscopy revealed that there was 'active bleeding' and the Minister was administered medicines.

Dr Ganesh of the AMC told UNI that if the bleeding could not be controlled, the Minister might require a surgery.

His condition was otherwise stable, he said.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and several other Ministers and Congress leaders visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the Minister.
