Inquiry ordered over the closure of GPS Nowara

KT NEWS SERVICE UDHAMPUR, May 14 - To check the punctuality of staff in educational institutions, Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, V.

Raina conducted surprise check of Government Primary School, Sial Jattan and Government High School Salmerhi and found two teachers absent from duty and some arriving late in the schools.

At GPS Sial Jattan, out of three teachers only one teacher was present, Teacher Garo Devi on casual leave and RET Teacher, Sanjeev Kumar absent from duty.

The RET had, however, marked casual leave but the leave application was not available.

The ZEO concerned was directed to inquire the matter and submit report for further action.

While scrutinizing the attendance register of GHS Salmerhi, teacher, Santosh Kumari was found absent from duty.

Whereas the PET, Ashok Kumar arrived late in the school.

The Headmaster of the school was asked to look into the matter submit his report.

However, the pay of absentee teacher was ordered to be kept withheld from this month till further orders and PET directed to be punctual in future.

The Headmaster was also asked to maintain neat and clean record of registers as cuttings and over-writings were observed on checking the records.

On the reported complaints of public, the CEO also directed ZEO Panchari to pay surprise visit of GPS, Nowara and conduct inquiry over the reported closure of school during his visit on May 13, 2008 and send report within a week's time.

The pay of the staff of the school was also kept withheld till further orders.

Power shut down today KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 14 - To carry out urgent work on 11 KV feeders MU-3 (BSF feeder), SN-4 & T-5 (PHE), the power supply to Top Paloura, Shanti Nagar, BSF Paloura, PHE Paloura, PHE Toph and other adjoining areas shall remain affected on 15th of May, 2008 from 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM.
