Inter-Zonal tourney in Rajouri commencing from Aug 20

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 13: A week long Inter Zonal tournament, organised by District Youth Services and Sports Department will be commencing in Rajouri from August 20.

According to District Sports Officer, Mohd Din these tournaments are being organized for boys and girls under 19 years in various disciplines like volleyball, Kabaddi, kho-kho and handball for both boys and girls.

Meantime, the wrestling competitions for boys of Kandi, Kalakote and Sunderbani zones will also be held.

The competition of Sunderbani and Nowshera zones have been fixed from August 20 to 21 in Higher Secondary School Lamberi and the same days these will also be held at Sports Stadium Dharali for Thannamandi and Darhal zones near Rajouri.

Similarly the games in same disciplines for Rajouri and Budhal zones would be slated in Higher Secondary School Kandi from August 22 and 23.

For Rajouri zone, these will be held at Mini Stadium Rajouri on August 23 .

Besides this, inter zonal competitions for boys and girls under 19 years group would also be held in Mini Stadium Rajouri from August 24 to25.

Sharma relected as treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Asso of India KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 13 : Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and member District Udhampur Sports Advisory Board, Ex.

President Hotel and Restaurant Association, has been elected second unopposed as treasurer of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India in its general council meeting held at Ganga Swaroop Ashram, Bhopat Wala Rishikesh Road, Haridwar in Uttaranchal.

Sharma was reelected unopposed as treasurer of the national Association for the second time in a row.

He has been giving his indigenous game since the last over decades.

He is a promoter of the game of wrestling in the state.

He told newly elected body unanimously decided that Junior National Championship, senior National championship besides the International meets will be organized under the banner of "Asian championship" in which wrestlers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldeep, Nepal, and Bhutan would participate.

He further disclosed that Akhara's which has been closed, will be revive soon and the traditional Indian style wrestling will be promoted at primary level.

Pertinent to mention that Sharma was recently honoured by Governor, J&K State Lt.

Gen (Retd) S.K Sinha in a function held at Reasi for his devotion and explore of Indian style wrestling in general particular in rural areas of the trouble State.

Meanwhile, Ram Ashrey Yadev (Uttar Preadesh) was elected as president, Roshan Lai (Delhi) as secretary general, Bala Sahcb Landgc (Maharashtra) as working president, Dinesh Partap Singh (Railways) as chairman Technical committee, D.S Dahiya (Navy), Parmod Kumar Singh (Uttaranchal), Manoj Pathui (H.P) and Gian Singh (Railways) as vice presidents.
