Jawan commits suicide

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 28: An army jawan allegedly committed suicide by allegedly shooting himself with his service Rifle in Rajouri district.

Sepoy Swapnil Wadne of 268 Medium Regiment shot himself before leaving for an exercise at 6.50 AM today, Lt Col SD Goswami, Defence Ministry spokesman said.

The Sepoy belonged to Maharashtra, he said.

The army has instituted a court of inquiry to probe the incident.

Police have also registered an FIR and started investigation, the spokesman informed.
