JKLF, ISL distribute relief among snow storm survivors
KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Mar 2: After spending two days distributing relief goods among the people affected by the recent snow storms and the avalanches in south Kashmir, JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik today returned to Srinagar.
A spokesman of JKLF said that Malik and his other colleagues including Islamic Students League (ISL) president Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi, today returned after distributing relief among the affectees.
He said that Malik visited far flung villages like Gawrun and Gujarpati, which were inaccessible, and distributed relief among the affectees.
He said that Malik and his colleagues moved on foot and surpassed many hurdles while reaching out to the victims in these areas.
He said that Malik and his colleagues today went to Takia-Magam after walking several miles of distance and distributed the relief among survivors of snow storms.
He also visited Bodoo, Tangpora, Sunan Sagam and other affected areas.
The front spokesman said that in these areas, people are on the verge of starvation.
He however expressed his satisfaction that Front reached out to these areas at the right time and did its bit to help the needy in these tough times.
He said that Malik distributed several hundred quintals of rice, flour, several sacks of pulses, several kilograms of cooking oil, hundreds of packets of tea leaves and salt.
Warm clothes and shoes have also been distributed among the victims.
A medical team was also accompanying the team to provide medical treatment to the injured.
