RANCHI, Oct 8 (UNI): Jharkhand, the host for the 34th National Games, is "serious" about doping, a menace unceremoniously attached to many sports personalities in the country and abroad.

National Games Organising Committee Secretary S M Hashmi today asserted that the Jharkhand Olympic Association was "well aware of the menace", adding a workshop aimed at creating awareness on the matter would be organised next week here.

"Manmohan Singh of Medical Commision of Indian Olympic Association will lead a team to conduct the workshop," Hashmi said.

Singh would be acompanied by the Chief Medical Officer of Sports Authority of India, P S Ramchandran.

The NG, scheduled to be organised in three cities of Jharkhand - Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur - would begin on November 21 with the concluding function scheduled for Decembner Five.
