SSRB directed to entertain applications of petitioners JAMMU, June 20 (JNF): High Court directed Service Selection Recruitment Board (SRB) to entertain the applications of petitioners for post of Junior Grade Nurse.
Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice M Yaqoob Mir directed J&K Service Selection Board to entertain the applications of petitioners and process the same, objections, if any, within four weeks.
This direction was passed in a petition filed by Sunita Rani & Ors who have applied for the post of Junior Grade Nurses in pursuant advertisement notice dated May 31, 2008, issued by the J&K Service Selection Recruitment Board, applications have been invited for various posts include the post of Junior Grade Nurse.
The educational qualification prescribed is 10+2 or above with Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institute.
The petitioners possess qualification of Diploma in Nursing, but are only matriculate.
Their applications are not being entertained on the ground that they do not possess the qualification of 10+ 2.
Advocate Yaseer Ejaz Tak appearing for the petitioners has submitted that J&K Nursing (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules 1971, in the said rules, the qualification prescribed for the post of junior nurse is Matric with diploma in Nursing from SMF.
According to Advocate Tak the qualification of 10+2 prescribed runs contrary to the rules and if the applications of the petitioners are not entertained they will lose the chance of competition.
Justice M Yaqoob Mir after considering the arguments of Advocate YE Tak appearing for the petitioners issued notice to respondents' returnable within four weeks and also directed the respondents to entertain the application of petitioners and process the same.
Pakistan national arrested KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 20: Border Security Force (BSF) last night arrested a Pakistan national, who had 'inadvertently' crossed to Indian Territory, from International Border (IB) in R S Pura sector.
Sources said that the BSF personnel noticed suspected movement along the border and sounded an alarm.
They nabbed a youth soon after he crossed the IB.
He has been identified as Sahil, 25, son of Asif of Narwal Sailkot in Pakistan.
The youth was carrying a wrist watch and rupees ten with him when he was arrested.
The Pakistan youth had crossed the International Border 'by mistake', sources added.
"During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested youth gave different statements which made the BSF suspicious about him and decided to hand over the youth to Arnia Police Station," sources said, adding that "The youth claimed that he crossed to this side intentionally to work here as the labour as the wages in India are more than Pakistan.
In another statement he, however, said that he was frustrated as his father was not giving him proper attention and he decided to cross IB." Sources further informed that the changing statements of the arrested youth forced BSF to hand over him to police.
"He will be shifted to Joint Interrogation Center (JIC) tomorrow where he will be questioned by other intelligence agencies," sources maintained.
