Kashmir Day celebrated
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU Jan13:Kashmir day was celebrated by Pir Panchal an organization dedicated for the cause of promoting socio cultural ,environmental and sports issues .
It organised an inter school Kashmiri action song competition here today in which Coventery scholars school ,SOS Gole Gujral school and Presentation school stood first ,second and third respectively.
Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed who was Chief Guest on the occasion stressed the need of preserving Kashmiri culture and heritage.
Secretary Cultural Academy Dr.
Rafeeq Masoodi who presided over the programme stressed the need of rehabititation of kashmiri migrants and role of cultural academy in organizing kashmiri programmes exlusively for displaced Kashmiri migrants in migrant camps.
President of the Organisation Ramesh Hangloo while speaking on the occasion demanded cultural policy , introduction of Sharda Script, pilgrimage to Sharda Shrine in POK and establishment of Sharda University in the state.
Arjun Dev Mahjoor a renounced kashmiri scholar was also awarded with Abhinav Gupt Award for his literary contributions.
