KCCI rejects Beig's allegations

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 17: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has rejected Finance Minister's allegation that they cancelled their meeting with him for political reasons.

"We are not politically affiliated with any organisation in Kashmir or elsewhere", a KCCI statement said adding that they are an apex body to organise, promote, revive, watch over and protect the general commercial interests of the state and the interests of persons engaged in trade.

"Our chamber is a 74 years old organisation with impeccable, perfect, and clean track-record.

Therefore the allegation levelled against this chamber is misplaced, and unacceptable", the statement said.

It reiterated its stand that Finance Minister has ignored the Chamber and other important trade bodies on budget consultation this time.
