Labourers working on LoC fencing reported missing

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Three persons who were taken as labourers to work on the fencing of LoC in Karnah sector are missing.

Their families have approached the police and civil administration for help in tracing the whereabouts as nobody from army is reportedly cooperating.

A delegation from Chowkibal area said the defence forces took a number of people, mostly young men from various areas in the border district of Kupwara.

While most of them have returned, three youth have not reported back to their homes.

The three missing persons are identified as Ghulam Mohamad Bhat son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat of 22 years, Ali Mohamad Bhat son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat of 29 years - both residents of Reshi village in Chowkibal and Siraj-ud-Din of Filimarg village.

Their family members said that though all their fellow labourers returned home, the three are still missing.

The defence forces have not offered any justification for their apparent disappearnce.

The families have approached the civil and police adminstration officials to seek help in tracing the whereabouts of the three persons, reports from Baramulla said.
