KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 23: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation today demanded revision of minimum wage to Rs 150 per day to the village guards, numberdars, Anganwari workers besides other employees.
As per a press release, the meeting was chaired by its president Abdul Majid Khan.
He said that the monthly medical allowance of the state employees and pensioners be enhanced to rupee 500.
He also sought regularization of the daily workers including those engaged after 1994.
He also demanded the removal of pay anomalies of head, senior and junior assistants and exempting senior assistants above 40 years of age from secretariat.
Illicit liquor recovered, 2 held KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU July 23: Police claimed to have arrested two bootleggers and recovered 200 pouches of illicit liquor and 3000 liters "Lahan" from their possession.
Reports said that acting on a tip-off, police conducted a series of raids in Chakdrab Khan and Jakhbar area under the jurisdiction of police station Kathua.
During the drive, police intercepted two persons and recovered 200 Pouches of illicit liquor and 3000 liters of "Lahan" from their possession.
They have been identified as Jeet Kumar alias Pappy son of Dhian Chand, resident of Chakdrab Khan and Krishan Chand son of Banarsi Dass, resident of village Chackdrab Khan.
Reports said that the seized "Lahan" has been destroyed by the police and a case stands registered at police station Kathua Under Section 48-A Excise Act.
