Manmohan arriving on July 15

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 10: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who had to cancel his visit to Jammu on July 10 because of state mourning following the death of former Prime Minister Chandershekhar is now visiting the winter capital on July 15.

Confirming this to the Kashmir Times, Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof Amitabh Mattoo said, "The Prime Minister's Office has intimated that the Prime Minister is visiting the Jammu University on July 15." Dr Singh was scheduled to attend special convocation of Jammu University today where he had to be conferred degree of "Doctorate of Letters", besides laying foundation stone of two room tenements for Kashmiri Pandit Migrants at Jagti near Nagrota.

Meanwhile, sources said JU officials will meet tomorrow to discuss the new schedule of the convocation.

Sources in the police department said that the security agencies have also received the new date from the PMO.

A meeting of senior officials would be held on Wednesday at Police Headquarters to review the security arrangements, they said.
