MDU expects healing touch from govt
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 2: Mazdoor Dastkar Union (MDU) has urged coalition government to give 'healing touch' to the artisans and labourers (Dastkars and Mazdoors) of the state.
Addressing media today, MDU president Kavi TR Panotra said, "government should provide places for kiosks and Rehris by road sides to with minimum cost in instalments so that artisans and labourers could earn their livelihood".
He added, "they should be given a guaranteed work for at least ten days in a month so that their children could get two square meals and cutting and tailoring centres should also be opened in slums where children of labourers and artisans could be taught vocational training to make them self-dependent".
The MDU president among other things also demanded that government should also provide easy loans, plots of three or five marlas and a government job to at least one member in every family of artisans and labourers".
