Militant killed in Kokernag

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Apr 2: A militant was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Kokernag in Anantnag district while two militants were able to break the cordon of security forces in the Bandipora area.

Reports said that a militant owing allegiance to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and identified as Mohammad Hussain Reshi alias Umair resident of SoafShali was killed in an encounter with the SOG personnel at Khalaar-Kokernag in Anantnag district.

The deceased was said to be a battalion commander of the militant outfit and was active for a long time.

Meanwhile, reports from Bandipora said that two militants managed to break the cordon of security forces personnel at Chiti Banday village in the newly formed district.

Reports said that an encounter took place between the militants and security forces in the area but the militants managed to give the later a slip.

In the firefight between the two sides the house belonging to Mohammad Ramzan Malik was gutted along with the two shops also of the same person.
