Militants kidnap Panchayat member

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 2: Militants last night kidnapped a Panchayat member from Barmidhar area of Mahore in Reasi district and security forces recovered a human skeleton besides some live grenades from Doda and Poonch districts since late last evening.

Police reports said that a Panchayat member identified as Sher Mohammad, 55, son of Sardaru Gujjar of Barmidhar (Mahore) in Reasi district has been kidnapped by suspected militants from his house last night.

His whereabouts were not yet ascertained, police said, adding that a search operation has been launched to recover him.

Police said that human skeleton and 12 detonators were recovered by the security forces from a hideout at the Kither Forest area of Kishtwar district.

Meanwhile, a hideout was also busted in Poonch district, police reports said, adding, that two live grenades, two defused grenades, two AK magazines, 69 Pika rounds, one wireless set antenna, one binocular, one camera and 54 AK rounds were recovered from Dara Sangla area in Surankot."
