Motorcyclist hit by train

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Aug 14: A motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a train at an unmanned Railway crossing at Chann Arorian in Kathua district last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar, 26, of Chann Arorian.

He was seriously injured after being hit by a train last evening.

He was shifted to the District Hospital (DH) Kathua where he succumbed to his wounds.

Railway Police, however, said that he under an influence of liquor was driving the bike on the railway track and the train hit him resulting in his death.

The body after autopsy was handed over to the family members for last rites.

Police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc.
