`Move aimed at rewarding militants’
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Nov 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today lashed out at the state government, mainly Congress, for approving, what it termed as an "anti-national" policy aimed at the return of Kashmiri militants from Pakistan-Administered Kashmir.
The party leaders are questioning as how Congress ministers can allow the passage of a policy which is aimed at threatening the integrity and security of nation as apprehended by one of its own senior leaders and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
BJP legislature party leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, while describing the policy as ‘anti-national’ announced that the party would oppose it tooth and nail.
“The party would devise a strategy to oppose the policy.
How can we tolerate a policy which seeks to grant money and rehabilitation to the terrorists who went to Pakistan and Pakistan Administered Kashmir for waging a war against the Indian nation," Chaman questioned.
Meanwhile BJP state spokesperson Dr.
Nirmal Kamal said that the cabinet nod to rehabilitation/surrender policy is another blunder by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“This move will threaten the national integrity and security of the country in general and of J&K state in particular.
For the past two years the security agencies have very categorically revealed that there are 500 militants still operating in the state.
Just a week ago, the state DGP Kuldeep Khoda had also admitted that still there are 500 militants in the state,” she pointed out.
She also took a dig at the Congress over the absence of its three ministers in the cabinet meeting which took place yesterday.
