MP govt to provide laptop to natl hockey team members

BHOPAL, May 3 (UNI): Indian national hockey team is all set to become techno-savvy as the Madhya Pradesh government will soon provide laptops to all the 22 members of the squad to assess their own performance as well as that of the opposition.

Director (Central Zone), Sports Authority of India (SAI), R K Naidu told UNI here today that Additional Chief Secretary, Union Sports Ministry, Praveen Krishna came here two days back and held a meeting with the players and the coaches to know about their problems and preparation for the Asia Cup.

Krishna had sanctioned all facilities and equipments for the players and assured that the Centre would leave no stone unturned to provide facilities for the players, who would represent the country, Naidu said.

Naidu said Krishna also met Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahani and state sports department Additional Chief Secretary Ranjana Chowdhary and apprised them about team's accomodation for the next one year.

He also informed the officers duo about team's preparation for the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games to be held next year.

He said Sahni had assured to provide all facilities on behalf of the state government including providing laptops and ten coloured televisions in SAI's hostel, where the players would stay.

Naidu said the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would hand over the laptops and the televisions to the players at a function after returning of the players from Malaysia.

He said the players also used the state government's multi-purpose gymnasium, situated at T T Nagar stadium during the training camp.
