Murder accused surrenders
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 23: The main accused involved in an alleged murder of doctor's son at Channi on July 17, 2008 evening surrendered before the police today.
The deceased has been identified as Koushal Slathia alias Billa, son of Karan Singh Slathia resident of Dilli.
Police sources said that he surrendered before Channi Himmat Police.
Police had arrested his associate Gagan Deep Singh, son of Gurdeep Singh of Marble Market Trikuta Nagar on July 18, while two others were still at large.
Police has yet to recover the weapon of offence (kirch).
Those who were still at large were identified as Surinder Singh alias Banti, son of Bharat Singh and KP Singh, son of Mohinder Singh both residents of Dilli.
Koushal Slathia alias Billa, son of Karan Singh Slathia, police said was the main accused and he had stabbed the victim with sharp edged weapon on July 17 evening at Sector 7 Channi Himmat.
Police has registered a case under section 302, 341 and 34 RPC and 4/27 Arms Act against the accused in Police Station Channi Himmat.
Police said that a hunt has been launched to arrest the remaining accused.
As reported, a teenager was murdered by some miscreants last evening while he was on his way back home after attending his tuition classes in Channi Himmat area of south Jammu.
The deceased Sahil Khajuria, 17, resident of Sector 5 Channi Himmat was reportedly stabbed by four assailants on the back over a petty issue while he was returning to his home.
The deceased was a son of a prominent doctor Bhupesh Khajuria and Head of Department Forensic Medicines, Government Medical College, Jammu.
Cop suspended KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 23: Senior police officers today placed under suspension Head Constable of Police and terminated the services of Special Police Officer (SPO) for demanding money from a man at Fountain crossing Akhnoor last night.
Official sources said that Head Constable Sudesh Kumar was placed under suspension and SPO Amar Singh has been terminated from the services by the senior police officers.
Reports said that both the cops intercepted a local Puran Chand at Fountain crossing Akhnoor last night.
They demanded money for his release.
Puran Chand informed the locals about the incident after which they rushed to the spot and subjected the Head Constable to severe thrashing.
The SPO managed to flee from the spot.
The injured Head Constable was hospitalized.
